Highland resort with superb views of Mt. Fuji

The city of Fujiyoshida is located at a height of 750 m above sea level on the northern slopes of Mt. Fuji, Japan’s iconic mountain. The base of Mt. Fuji is ringed by five lakes, and the most spectacular view of the mountain is over the lake within the city limits of Fujiyoshida. Other attractions include nearby Fuji-Q Highland Amusement Park with its thrilling jet coaster rides, trekking around the foot of Mt. Fuji and sightseeing trips through the lake district. The city has many restaurants, and a local specialty is hoto, a variety of udon noodles.
