Two days on Okinawa Island – seeing modern and traditional Okinawa

Day1

AM Arrival at Naha Airport

Tropical Okinawa, in the south of Japan, is home to large coral reefs and the marine life that come with them. Enjoy a variety of marine activities including diving, snorkeling, sea kayak and so on.

Learn more about Ryukyu culture by visiting Shurijo Castle, the seat of Ryukyu power for about 450 years. Here visitors can get a feel for Okinawa's unique history which sets it apart from mainland Japan.

Day1

Ishigaki Beef
Try Ishigaki Island’s famous beef, which rivals Kobe beef in flavour.

(1)Kabira Bay
Visit this bay on the north coast of Ishigaki Island, which is famous for white sands, turquoise water and tropical vegetation. It was recently recommended by the Michelin Green Guide.

(2)Move to Taketomi island
Take a ferry from Ishigaki to Taketomi Island in about 15 minutes. Once on Taketomi, you can see the island by water buffalo-pulled cart. Spend the night at Hoshinoya Taketomi, which is one of the most luxurious resorts in all of Japan.
