2020.09.04 Successful Bid - the 2024 International Congress of Entomology (ICE) will be held in Kyoto, Japan!

Originally, presentations to decide the host city for the 27th International Congress of Entomology were to be conducted during ICE2020, which was supposed to be held in Helsinki, Finland in July this year. Instead, presentations were conducted online, and Kyoto's bid to host ICE2024 was successful!

The very first International Congress of Entomology was held in Brussels, Belgium back in 1910, and the event has been held roughly every four years ever since. It is the world's most comprehensive large-scale international congress on entomology. Japan hosted the 16th International Congress of Entomology in 1980, which was the first ICE to be held in Asia. 2024 will mark 44 years since this event.

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), in collaboration with Kyoto Convention Bureau, played an important part in this successful bid. JNTO assisted Professor Hideharu Numata of Kyoto University—who also serves as one of our JNTO MICE Ambassadors—during the four years of the bidding process. We are proud to announce that 3,000 delegates from 70 countries are to meet at Kyoto International Conference Center from August 25th to 30th, 2024, for ICE 2024.

We're looking forward to seeing you in Kyoto!
