2024.05.09 The International Convention of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations -WFTGA2026- to be held in Fukuoka!

We are pleased to announce that The International Convention of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations -WFTGA2026- will be held in Fukuoka, Japan, with active support and promotion from The Kyushu Association of Interpreters, Translators and Guide-Interpreters (K-iTG), Fukuoka Convention Center, and Fukuoka Convention & Visitors Bureau, supported by Japanese National Government bodies, which include: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan Tourism Agency and Japan National Tourism Organization.

A final presentation was made at the WFTGA 2024 in Siracusa, Italy, in January 2024. There, the decision was officially made to hold the 21st edition of the convention in Fukuoka, Japan, in 2026. This will be the first time Japan will host this prestigious conference.

This international conference brings together leaders and experts in the tourism guiding industry from some 60 countries and regions around the world to share knowledge and experience and to work together towards the development of the sector as a whole. It is an excellent opportunity for tourism guides to learn the latest high-level guiding know-how. The pre and post-conference days also provide an excellent opportunity to visit Fukuoka and other tourist attractions in Japan.

In collaboration with the Fukuoka Convention & Visitors Bureau, The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) supported the bidding committee's efforts to attract the conference successfully. We at JNTO continue to endorse the hosting of the WFTGA2026 in Fukuoka and extend a warm welcome to all attendees visiting Japan.
