2024.07.11 The Conference of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Education - APacCHRIE - to be held in Osaka in 2026!

We are pleased to announce that the 24th APacCHRIE Conference and 17th APacCHRIE Youth Conference will be held in Osaka, Japan. .

Japan’s presentation was made at the APacCHRIE board members meeting in Seoul, Korea, in May 2024. There, the decision was officially made to hold the 24th edition of the conference in Osaka, Japan, in 2026. This is the first time that Japan will be hosting this prestigious conference.

The official name of the conference is the “Conference of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Education.” It is an academic meeting of university institutions and practitioners involved in research and education in the tourism and hospitality fields. The conference will be attended by about 350 participants from 17 countries, mostly from Asia. 

The host city, Osaka, is home to Ritsumeikan University, which is known for its postgraduate school of tourism management. In addition, Osaka has high expectations for the tourism and hospitality sector in anticipation of the 2025 World Expo and the opening of the Integrated Resort in 2030. 

JNTO supported the bidding effort led by Keiko Nishimoto, professor at Ritsumeikan University, who has been appointed to the APacCHRIE board.
