Megishima
Megishima is a long, narrow island, 2.7 square kilometres in size, located 4 km fromTakamatsu Port. Villages on the island are known for the tall, roof-high stone walls that protect the houses from wind and sea spray. The island is a host site for the Setouchi Triennale 2013.
A replica of the famous Moai statues of Easter Island is located on Megishima. It was donated by a Takamatsu construction company that helped in restoring the actual Moai statues in 1995—the company had used this replica to carry out lifting tests.
