Hoheikan
City: Sapporo
Constructed as an upscale Western hotel in 1880 by the Hokkaido Development Commissioner, Hoheikan has hosted visits by the Meiji, Taisho and Showa Emperors. The historical building was eventually relocated to Nakajima Park in downtown Sapporo, and then designated as a Japanese Important Cultural Property in 1964. Its Great Hall provides a majestic setting in which to stage an impressive reception.
