Niigata Unison Plaza

Located on the right bank of the Shinano River near the center of the city, this venue offers a large free-parking area, a multipurpose auditorium, and large and small study, conference, and training rooms. Facilities are easily accessible by all, including seniors and persons with disabilities.
Niigata Prefecture constructed this learning and sharing venue for the purposes of promoting the welfare of residents, helping end discrimination against women, and encouraging citizens' greater social participation. The building includes a multipurpose auditorium, nine study and conference rooms, a nurse training room, a cooking-class room, a library, and an assistive-product exhibition and tryout space. It is equipped with tactile paving (navigation aid for the visually impaired), Braille guidance, handrails, and handicapped restrooms and parking. The auditorium offers excellent wheelchair access and support for the hearing-impaired. A nursery and nursing room facilitate attendance by parents with babies and toddlers.
