Miyagi Governor's Guest House

This historical building blends Japanese and Western-style influences (combines Japanese and Western-style rooms), and was built during the mid-Taisho era as a military residence. In addition to being used as a venue to welcome distinguished guests including ambassadors and royalty from overseas, it can also be rented and used by the general public for wedding ceremonies or banquets. The front gate formerly stood on the grounds of Sendai Castle; as one of the few remaining artifacts from the castle, the gate has been designated as a tangible cultural property of the prefecture.
