Urayasu City certainly looks like a modern, cosmopolitan metropolis with attractions like the Tokyo Disney Resort®. Still, it also exhibits the charms of ancient Edo cultivated in its rivers and the ocean. In addition to unique venues such as yakatabune (Japanese leisure boat) for parties, Urayasu has all the tourism resources, including large-scale hot spring facilities and multipurpose shopping complexes to host various events. With its close proximity to Tokyo, as well as Narita and Haneda Airports, and about 12,000 hotel guest rooms, this highly convenient city is a perfect place for conventions. The Maihama area features several hotels with conference halls of over 2,000 sqm, which are optimal locations for gatherings and business functions.

  • Urayasu City Folk Museum
    This museum explores the unique culture of Urayasu, which dates back to when it was a fishermen’s town. Easy-to-understand exhibitions show Urayasu’s nature, history, and culture, nurtured by the “Mother Sea.” At the outdoor exhibit area, “Urayasu-no-Machi,” you can explore a recreated Urayasu from around 1952, including the Sangen Nagaya, a row house built in the Edo Period and a tangible cultural property of Chiba Prefecture.
